I installed it about 2 months ago and it has seen some strong winds. It was a little pricey, but is very heavy duty and well built. Get what you pay for. It locks/unlocks to expand easy for me, but my wife who is weaker than me may struggle with it as she has strength problems. The 60 LED solar light kicks on every evening and I keep it on low with plenty of light on the flag. I did not like the security clamp to keep it from getting stolen as anyone with a wrench can loosen it. For me, I used pipe tape and plastic on first concrete pour and poured another 21/2" over the security clamp to make it theft proof. We will see if that was a mistake as I will have to chip out that 21/2" if there is a problem with the pole down the road. I would definitely recommend this flag pole. https://ift.tt/34CVY7f

That one had design flaws in my opinion and it needed to go. The Phoenix has an internal locking system that makes sense and therefore raising and lowering the pole is a breeze. And it came with a very high quality 4x6 US flag. I flew a smaller one before and this is so much nicer. I thought the dark bronze color would be great and got the matching flash collar to give it that finished look. I also dug out the old low watt wiring and replaced it with 120 v wiring for a brighter light. Soon we'll be finishing it around the base with pavers or stone.... haven't decided yet! Within my budget I was able to order their 15 ft silver pole along with a matching flash collar, which adds a finishing touch of class to the installation. For those wondering, this combination, along with the 3’x5’ American flag was the perfect size and height for our garden. The pole also came with the standard brass colored ball, which looks great, and the pole clamp, which keeps everything securely in place and nicely hidden under the flash collar. Yesterday our property was hit by a sudden and massive storm we were unable to get to our new pole before the wind was 80mph, large hail and torrential rain had hit. Simply leave the concrete visible for anyone to see. No offense, but that seems to me to look rather unfinished. 2. Cover the concrete in some sort of ground covering or gravel. 3. Give your elegant new flagpole and flag, a professional finished look. I have already had numerous positive compliments (redundant since to be a compliment means it is by definition “positive") about my new Atlantic Flagpole. Then as they come even closer, they remark how amazingly ‘Finished’ the installation looks with the addition of the Flash Collar. Just as an aside, I looked at buying a pole and flag from one of several other competitors, but am very happy I chose to go with Bethany and her family at Atlantic Flagpole. My neighbors (and even a relative) purchased theirs from other companies, and while they look fine, they don’t look “as nice” as mine. As a retired pilot and LtCol in the US Air Force, who worked approx. 5 years supporting Air Force One, I have grown accustomed to looking for quality.
